Devotional

The manifestation of the glory of the Lord is a “higher place of praise.” By faith I accepted God and I have known all my life that He is real. But something happened!

On November 4, 1971 my father was killed at his job. The life was literally “snuffed” out of him. He was smashed between two train boxcars. My family was told that a co-worker thought my father saw the boxcars and therefore failed to warn him. I cooked my dad’s last breakfast.

I received the devastating telephone call from his supervisor about the accident because my mother was not at home. I immediately broke-down into tears because I knew my dad wouldn’t live. I called my sister Roberta, who lived in New Jersey, my great-aunt Helen and my aunt Elizabeth to tell them what had happened.

After the funeral I said to myself “There could be no God who would take someone that I loved so much.” I had been angry for over 20 years. I couldn’t and didn’t realize that this anger separated me from a loving God.

I didn’t release that anger until I surrendered my life to the Lord in 1993. I was empowered by the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of that “higher place of praise” was evident in my life.

“As water reflects a face so a man’s heart reflects the man.” Proverbs 27:19 (KJV).
A Glimpse of His Glory

God has given me a glimpse of His glory.

He has anointed and appointed me to write these poetic stories.

He removed the dirt. He washed me clean.

Well, it took Esther a year to be prepared for her king.

Perhaps I am not all that I hope to be.

But I thank the Lord for just loving me.

He loved me enough to give me His Spirit.

It is now up to me to glorify Him with it.

The Lord has given me a glimpse of His glory.

I pray that I will be worthy to keep telling His story.

Thank you Lord for blessing me with a chance to see your glory!
